Hello! My name is Alois!
I am the co-founder of Breaking Grounds – Social Change through Sport / Kicken ohne Grenzen and the author of the book »Gooool do Brasil – Cartography of a national Passion«, published in 2014. After my time at university in Graz and Berlin, i worked as graphic designer, programmer, publisher and journalist. I like Football, Climbing, Tennis and Chess. From time to time i write about it or i take pictures. My profile on Instagram. I am based in Vienna.

From 2008 to 2013, I lived in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and subsequently published Gooool do Brasil – Cartography of a national Passion. In its review of the book, the »Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung« said, »Alois Gstöttner’s book couldn’t be further from a 0×0, those ›two yawning mouths‹, as the Uruguayan novelist Eduardo Galeano once called it.« In 2014, the book won third place in the German Academy for Football Culture’s Football Book of the Year award.
